Compression QC

During Compression QC — the first stage for creating a functional DVD or Blu-ray disc — major attention is paid to the picture and image quality. The compression or encode is the heart of the DVD; no matter how fancy your menus are or how clean your navigation is, if compression is poor the consumer experience will be compromised.

• Encodes are QC’d onsite at the originating compression facility
• Compression encode is compared directly frame-to-frame to the original source
• Problem areas are reviewed again to verify corrections
• Source content issues are red-flagged
• Video content and encoding is verified to confirm
  client specifications
• A comprehensive report detailing the session is created
  and sent to client
• Oversee MPEG-2, MPEG4, AVC or VC-1 encoding process to ensure faithfully reproduced source material.
